Almost -- but not quite. You will want to apply a UV protective top coat that also provides the qualities required by your specific new floor (for example; skid resistance, color, easy maintenance, gloss, impact resistance, etc).

Most epoxy, polyurethane, polyaspartics, and polyurea topcoats will be compatible with the ACTECH Vapor Epoxy Slurry™. Always confirm with the manufacturer of the topcoat and do a test patch at your site to confirm performance and application techniques.

YES, but with some caveats.

• Decorative Quartz (broadcast directly into the VES Epoxy Slurry) will reduce the moisture mitigation properties and consume a lot of expensive colored quartz (will "drown").
• Except for the most skilled of craftsmen, broadcasting decorative flakes directly into the VES Epoxy Slurry will waste a lot of expensive flake (will "drown").
• As a general rule, ACTECH recommends that a single or double decorative broadcast system be installed on the VES Slurry once it is able to support light foot traffic (approx 4 -6 hours after application in a 70*F / 70% RH acclimated environment.

The clear ACTECH 2170FC epoxy with the VES Quartz flour combines to yield a natural light tan color on most concrete surfaces. At a 60 mil spread rate, the color of the original concrete may influence final appearance. ALWAYS do a mock-up to make sure the final results match your aesthetic expectations.

The on-site / hands-on supervisor of an installation team should have a minimum of 5 years experience with epoxy floor applications. But, unlike many mortar and cementitious urethane products, ACTECH VES Epoxy Slurry™ does not need any additional skills or special training to apply. VES is self-leveling and somewhat forgiving in the hands of comparatively unskilled crew members.

For 60 mil (nominal 1/16th inch) applications, no special tools are required beyond a squeegee/backroll application beyond a porcupine roller to assist self-leveling and break-up occasional air bubbles. For spread rates above 100 mils, using a gauged rake is highly recommended. REFER to Data Sheet and Application Guidelines.

One Unit of ACTECH Vapor Epoxy Slurry measures 3.9 gallons and is comprised of an Epoxy "A" Component, an Epoxy "B" Component and a VES Quartz Flour "C" Component. REFER to Data Sheet.

NO... Not if you want Industry Compliant Moisture Vapor Protection. Sand crystals create tiny micro channels within the epoxy thru which moisture vapor will travel. (This is why we were never able to offer an ASTM F3010 compliant Epoxy Slurry until now). If you just want a normal (but expensive) epoxy slurry using ACTECH 2170™FC as your base, knock yourself out.
